Meet Sheila
Born into an Irish-American family and growing up in St. Louis to parents who were both educators, Sheila was raised to think and care about the world around her, and it’s her commitment to serving others that drives her to seek office.
Sheila put herself through college to graduate from NYU, and later built a successful wine importing business in a highly regulated area. In building that business, she came to understand the challenges faced by small businesses and what it takes to foster their growth.
As a resident for 16 years, Sheila raised both her daughters in Darien where they attended public schools. Her firm commitment to public education also motivates her to run for office and work towards legislation that supports academic excellence, access to books, and early education programs in our schools.
Sheila continually connects with her community in Rowayton and Darien through her weekly group bike rides, her adorable dogs Stella and Luna, and her community work.

Key Issues
As a moderate democrat and business owner, Sheila supports legislation that enables businesses to thrive. At the same time, she is keenly aware that residential and business development in town needs to be paired with funding for Darien and Rowayton to support growing infrastructure needs. Darien and Rowayton are not benefiting from available state funding under the current representation.
Our coastline and natural spaces are a finite resource – if we lose these, we cannot get them back. Sheila will work at the state level to deliver legislation that supports the protection of our natural resources and coastal communities, and she will fight to make sure we get our fair level of state funding. Current representation voted against common sense energy and conservation legislation that was endorsed by both the business industry group CBIA and the environmental group Save the Sound.
Seniors and our youth are facing unprecedented mental health challenges and Sheila has seen up close the devastation of our community’s mental health and substance abuse crises while volunteering at Silver Hill Hospital with her therapy dog-in-training, Stella. It is imperative that our state continues to support and expand mental health services. Current representation voted against SB-1 that became law this year that included resources for a working group to address the mental health effects of isolation facing our seniors as well as support to study brain health, a Parkinson's registry and other important public health issues.
Our Values Need a Voice
Sheila Quinn is running for State Representative in the 141st Assembly District, which includes Darien and Rowayton, to deliver real results for our communities.
Delivering real results for the district means planning for the future and prioritizing our coastlines, our infrastructure as a commuter town and promoting access to education and academic excellence.
